Raid Update - ICC Rep Farm & ToC10

So The Dollhouse attempted Trial of the Crusader 10 man yesterday - this did not go well.

This was a good and a bad event for us.

Bad because any time you raid and fail it is a blow. It shows what you're missing, what you have been unable to do.

However, this is also a good source of information. We know we need more healers, this is certain. The members who went on the raid started to understand what tactics are in these things, and how they need to react quickly to instruction etc.

So not the end of the world, but would have been nice to get further on the run.

Members who raided:
Zorendiil, Arednel, Krauth (later Grelak), Arcesse, Brannigan, Chydenius, SuperBeef.

----

In Ice Crown news, Zorendiil and Arednel went on a reputation run, which does not save you to the raid in question as you do not engage any bosses while doing so. This has let Arednel get her class specific ring which should help massively (and perhaps serve to show some people that she knows what she's doing inside ICC). Other than helping her to achieve this, my main goal was to find out what kind of DPS numbers Zorendiil was pulling via recount addon.

The numbers bounced between 4200 - 5000 which I must say, I'm quite happy about. It shows that my rotation is working quite well and that with some more gear upgrades I will be managing the numbers that I should be able to.

The Alt Information

So here's a list of my alts all on Quel'Thalas [EU]. I wasn't going to post it yet as I will no doubt get annoyed at their inability to progress through the levels but hey, why not.

For the Horde

Name: Sitharii
Race: Blood Elf
Class: Death Knight [Blood]
Level: 63

Name: JomaWelx
Race: Blood Elf
Class: Paladin [Retribution]
Level: 26

Class: Mage [Frost]
Level: 24

Class:

Class:

For the Alliance

And this is why I am now completely incapable of levelling any one of them because I can never decide which. On the other hand, they do mean I dont get so bored of particular specs and quests as I can simply move across elsewhere so why not.

My Main - Zorendiil

Name - Zorendiil
Race - Troll
Class - Hunter
Level - 80

I'm quite proud of what I've managed to do with this character so far. He was the first I created and I still enjoy playing him.

Currently decked out in some pretty good gear [ http://thedollhouse.wowstead.com/character/1202461 ], he's at the stage where he should get to raid more than anything else. Unfortunately he has that pesky problem of not having the achievement from said raids.

Raid Information

Onyxia (level 60)

This was a very fun raid when myself and Arednel managed to get the achievement (now a feat of strength as it is no longer possible to run). We knew the tactics going in, and while it was all a little bit mad we managed it without too much trouble iirc. Not only that but I got my very first piece of tier gear, the t2 hunter helm (which since the raid option doesnt exist any more has since been moved to another boss).

Zul'Gurub (level 60)

Our first real guild run. We've now run this a few times, mostly with a lot less players than expected, but to be fair, they're level 80s in a level 60 raid. Easy enough run because of this, and good team building experience was had.

Ruins of AQ (level 60)

This was pretty much a blur with our tank running us through at the speed of light, all i remember is we downed it pretty quick.

Molten Core (level 60)

MC and Ragnaros remained a challenge simply due to needing the numbers - and more specifically a couple of tanks and healers. In the end we did manage to run if with around 12 people and it was nice to be able to tick it off as completed :)

Blackwing Lair (Level 60)

Pug group for this one, nice to learn the tactics, even if its unlikely to be one we run in guild very often. Final boss was interesting as a Hunter when my ability to use ranged weapons was suddenly cut off. Nevertheless, highly entertaining and a clean kill.

Obsidian Sanctum (Level 80 - 10 man)

Our first Wrath raid as a guild. We've run this twice, both times went very smoothly, although we killed the additional bosses before engaging Sartharion. Perhaps worth trying with one or more of the drakes still active next time. Either way, it was a success.

Naxxramas
(Level 80 - 10 man)
Construct - Patchwerk
Plague - Noth the Plaguebringer
Military - Instructor Razuvious (9 man group)

Seems to be a problem in getting people together for this so Naxx is gradually being downed via the weekly raid system - aka one boss at a time. What this is allowing us to do however is study the raid in more detail as most groups we join have plenty who know the tactics very well by now. Hopefully soon to become a nice place for guild practice.

Onyxia (Level 80 - 10 man)

Once the tanks managed to keep her turned to her side this raid seemed a piece of cake - if a drawn out one. Tactics very much similar to the level 60 version, just hit her harder and faster as DPS. Guild should be quite close to being able to manage this soon.

Ice Crown Citadel (Level 80 - 10 man)
First Wing - Lord Marrowgar, Lady Deathwhisper, Gunship, Saurfang the Deathbringer

I was very lucky here. A raid leader took a chance on me that I would listen to tactics, and not let him down despite not having the achievement to get in. Fortunately for me - and him - it worked about as well as could be hoped. One wipe on Lord Marrowgar, in which I was being pestered via whisper by a member of the raid so wasnt overly attuned to what was going on. After that, all good. I did my job, took down the spikes and dps'd like a good little hunter.
Deathwhisper went so well, I turned round to Arednel and asked if that was really it when we downed her. (I must point out at this stage that she was telling me tactics from about 8 feet away - so helpful :) )
Gunship was nice as I wasnt sure what to do but the RL asked me to stay near him, he'd pull the adds i knock em down. Teamwork, nice when people use it properly.
As for Saurfang? I was scared of this but again it went really brilliantly. The tanks did their jobs and stayed focused on Saurfang, I managed to pull half the bloodbeasts away to my side and dps them down quickly with the help of a 6k dps lock ;) while the other lock and ranged did the same on the other side. All in all, I was amazed that this worked so nicely for me.

You want me to link ach? I finally can! :D

So thats an update on where Zorendiil is up to. Hope you didnt get too bored. But I'd like to keep up with this stuff myself before I forget.

Introduction

So I'm stealing the idea of my better half and going to try and blog about life in World of Warcraft. About my toons, our guild and anything else in game I decide I want written down. Hopefully this will allow me to keep track of everything and remember fun or challenging moments.
